Je movie gulo dekhlam :

1. Lord of the Rings trilogy

[Actually I became a great fan of JRR Tolkien, the great writer. I like so much his great works on the Middle-Earth, a continent of Arda, a fictitious world in a fictitious universe! I have a hardcopy of his book The Lord of the Rings; I planned to read it and other works of Tolkien like The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, The History of the Middle-Earth and last but not the least The Atlas of the Middle-Earth by the famous cartographer Karen Wynn Fonstad, to realize the events more illustratively. I'm also learning the artificial language created by Tolkien for his fictitious world like Quenya and Sindarin.

[The 9 members of the Fellowship of the Ring, from upper left clockwise - Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, Boromir, Gimli, Pippin, Merry, Frodo and Sam. Finally the fellowship breaks into only two members - Frodo and Sam.]

The live-action movies are directed by Peter Jackson with the help of the New Zealand government. The breathetaking places where they were shot are in the great lands of New Zealand... I wish I could have visited there one day. The protagonists are Elijah Wood(Frodo Baggins, a hobbit), Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn, son of Arathorn, the in-exile heir to the throne of Gondor, a man), Liv Tyler (Arwen Undómiel, an Elf, daughter of Elrond, in love with Aragorn), Orlando Bloom (Legolas, an Elf), Ian McKellan (Gandalf, the wizard) and the antagonist Christopher Lee (Saruman). I love the theme song "May it be" by Enya.]

2. সাগরিকা (Sagarika)

[This is 1956 Bengali film of Kolkata, performed by the legendary উত্তম কুমার (Uttam Kumar) and সুচিত্রা সেন (Suchitra Sen). I am too fond of this couple to express in words. I nearly saw all the movies of the them. These movies are 40-50 years old but they really passed the test of time and went classics.]

3. Pirates of the Caribbean

[I've heard so much of these films, but never had the opportunity to watch them. I am really impressed watching the first one - The curse of the Black Pearl - no wonder it went blockbuster. The story is based on the Walt Disney theme park Pirates of The Caribbean. Protagonsits are - Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightely. By the way, in her real life Keira Knightley had a Dyslexia in her early life, it's the disease Ishaan Nandakishore Awasthi has in the Hindi film Taare Zameen Par (तारे ज़मीन पर, Stars on Earth). Now i'm watching the rest 2 sequels of this trilogy. Hope I'll enjoy them too.]

Ar je boita porlam, seta hocche none but the great শেষের কবিতা (Shesher Kabita) by Rabindranath Tagore. I loved it so much ... but the end is a tragic one(milonattok noy, biyogantok). Age onekbar porte chaisilam, kintu pora hoye i othenai.[To download a copy of it (PDF) click here. I'm afraid you have to sign up there first.]

And I wrote a poem without a name. I post it here for you ... [I'm afraid it's got a sad tone :(]

জানিনে কভু কি ছিনু তব আপনার।
আজি এ ধরাতে তুমি-আমি বুঝি পর।
চোখে বারি, মনে দুখ-
যদিবা এরূপে হয়, হোক তব সুখ;
আপনার হয় হোক
মলিন-বিধুর মুখ।
মনে মেনে নেব মোর হোতোই খালি এ বুক।
